Members Present: Amar Abbott-Chair, Jason Zsiba, Vicki Jacobi, Richard Hudson, Andrew Prestage, and Nicole Avina

 

  1. Welcome-members welcomed by Amar to the meeting
  2. Approval of the minutes. Minor corrections on members in attendance
  • Change order of agenda-agreed
  1. Accessibility Conference Report-Richard Hudson. Electronic Book required for accessibility purposes.  Requirement by the Justice Department and the Department of education as of 8 years ago.  To do best efforts to accommodate students.  Need to work with bookstore and library. All materials in classroom should be accessible as well.
  2. Demonstration from Monsido, a tool that will check our websites for accessibility to determine level of accessibility.
  3. Committee established goals to report to the President.
    1. Accessibility check list for campus—ie library door, G building with memo and recommendations
    2. Software purchases for compliance
    3. Standardized language on accessibility (Equity issue too)
  • Presentation from John at Monsido—price $3900 per year (ask Jason about the detailsJ)
  • Tenon CCC text support or Site Improve free from Chancellor’s Office
