Our intimate, educational community offers a 16-to-1 student/faculty ratio and one of the lowest costs of attendance. We believe that reduced class size presents greater opportunities for high quality mentorship.

Taft College is among only a dozen community colleges in California offering on-campus student housing (out of 116 schools). We annually provide safe, comfortable, and affordable housing to approximately 150 students. You can learn more about student housing elsewhere on our site.

We have empowered thousands of students to graduate and launch careers, with many transferring to University of California and California State University campuses. As reported by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO), nearly one-half of students earning a University of California bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics have transferred from a California Community College campus. Nearly 30% of University of California and more than half of California State University graduates started at a California Community College like Taft College.
