Veronica Van Ry

Veronica Van Ry is a member of Adjunct Faculty in Sociology. She has been teaching higher education courses for more than 20 years. She earned her Master of Arts Degree in Sociology from California State University, Bakersfield.

Van Ry has worked in both public and private institutions at two-year and four-year institutions, using both face-to-face and online modalities. When she transitioned to fully online teaching, she took numerous courses to learn all she could about online andragogy. She earned several certificates and is now fluent in Canvas.

She has worked with other faculty as a Peer Online Course Reviewer and had many of her courses approved by the California Virtual Campus Online Network of Educators (CVC-OEI) rigorous rubric. Her goal is to make the online environment as user-friendly as possible, so that student educational goals can be reached.

Van Ry enjoys watching students as they begin seeing and using sociology in their educational, professional, and personal lives.
