ATTENTION TAFT COLLEGE COMMUNITY

Banner, system, on campus internet, phone, etc. will undergo temporary shutdown from 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM (2 Hours) on Saturday, April 27, 2024 , for essential patch implementation of network firewalls.

According to Cisco's release on April 24, 2024, a critical vulnerability has been discovered and categorized as High risk. This vulnerability poses a threat of unauthenticated remote attacks, potentially causing unexpected device reloads and leading to a denial of service (DoS) scenario. Hence, it's crucial that we promptly integrate this patch into our system to defend against potential cyber security threat attacks. 

WHEN?

Scheduled system downtime of 2 hours is set for this Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. A follow-up notification will be sent when Banner is back online.

Services will not be available during the downtime.

  3. Self Service Banner
  4. Servers, including shared drives.
  5. DegreeWorks
  6. Any software or applications that are connected to the college's network
