Taft College Faculty Association Minutes
Wednesday, November 25, 2020
1. Welcome
President Payne welcomed faculty.
2. Approval of Minutes from October meeting
A motion to approve the minutes was made by David Mitchell with a 2nd from Mike Mayfield.
The motion was approved.
3. Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer, David Mitchell, reported an overall balance of $8273.479.
4. TCFCBC Update:
a) 2022-23 Academic Calendar sub-committee
President Payne shared that the team had reached consensus on the 2022-23 Academic
Calendar. A motion was made by Diane Jones with a 2nd from Debora Rodenhauser for
approval of the 2022-2023 Academic Calendar. The Academic Calendar will proceed with
the two board reading process. Once approved the calendar will be posted on the TC
website.
b) COVID 19 MOU
President Payne shared that the continuation of the MOU was discussed during the
November TCFCBC meeting. There was an interest from Admin to have Non-Teaching
Faculty who supervise staff to be on campus. The bargaining team did not reach agreement.
The teams plan was to speak to the stake holders. This topic is scheduled to be discussed
at
the December bargaining meeting.
5. Other
President Payne reminded faculty of the November 30th deadline for NAVIA enrollment.
President Payne shared that Nicole Avina from Distance Education would be leaving
TC, but
since her position was considered essential, the process would begin to seek a replacement.
