  1. Basic Skills Coordinators Webinar recap

Lori gave information from Friday’s monthly BSC webinar, the new basic skills funding formula was confirmed. There are no changes to what was originally presented earlier in the year. Additionally, there are three separate reporting due dates for basic skills in October. All have to do with funding/ budget in some way, going back to 2015.

  1. AB 705

Joe’ll spoke about AB 705, which recently passed. This bill is in regards to assessment. It requires community colleges to “maximize the probability that a student will enter and complete transfer-level coursework in math and English within a one-year timeframe….”

  1. CAP Design and Development Institute

Lori and Kamala will be attending, along with Juana.

  1. Co-Requisite Remediation/ English 1000/ Faculty in Labs conversation

There is ongoing discussion regarding co-requisite remediation, elimination of English 800 and 900, and English faculty working in the labs. No decisions have been made at this time.
